Since graduating from Millersville University
with a BFA in 1995, Ellen Slupe, with a
scientific background, now immersed
herself into an art vocabulary of straight
sided shapes at her home studio in
Lancaster, PA. Her artwork was exhibited
internationally in invitational exhibits in
Florence and Venice in Italy, Japan and
Korea. Juried and curated exhibits in
museums and galleries nationally include
The State Museum of Pennsylvania;
Demuth Museum, Lancaster, PA;
Susquehanna Art Museum, Harrisburg,
PA; Southwest Minnesota State University
Art Museum; Berman Museum of Art,
Collegeville PA and the Reading (PA)
Museum. Ellen is an active participant in
the regional arts scene as an independent
curator, freelance arts writer, board
member of New Arts Program in
Kutztown, and co-owner of Pfenninger
Gallery in downtown Lancaster from
2004-2007. Public collections holding
Ellen’s work include the Noyes Museum
of Art, Oceanville, NJ; Elizabethtown
College; Lancaster Museum of Art and
Villanova University among others.
