Sue Reno is a fiber artist who lives and
works in Columbia, PA. Her rich and
intricate quilts featuring landscape images
and botanical subjects draw constant
inspiration from her surroundings in rural
Lancaster County, using plants from her
extensive organic garden and from the
fringes of cultivation. She employs surface
design techniques including cyanotypes,
heliographic prints, and image transfers
as the basis for works that also incorporate
unusual and hand painted fabrics, hand
and machine stitching, and beadwork.
Sue has par ticipated in many quilt
showcases, exhibits and conferences
internationally including recently at the
Monmouth Museum, Lincroft, NJ; the
Museum of Fine Art, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan;
plus regularly contributing to international
quilt festivals in Houston, TX; Denver,
CO; Chicago, IL; Long Beach, CA and
Santa Clara, CA. Her quilts were also
featured recently in an episode of
“Simply Quilts” on HGTV and on the
cover of the Fall 2006 issue of The
Professional Quilter magazine.
