Peaches on Green and White Towel 20 x 30 oil on paper
For years I've been saying how important paint
quality is to my paintings. With this new series of
work the viewer will finally have the opportunity to see the paintings up close. I normally frame my pieces with mats and under glass, but with this new work I am starting to accomplish that. I love the still life. I
feel that even though I only use a few props or models the possiblilities are endless. I get great enjoyment out of setting these things up on my shelf and moving them around until I find the right composition, as if
I'm a director setting up a stage. For me light is one of the most important things in my paintings. It's just as important as what is being painted. Paint, light, surface... that is what my paintings are about.
