A restored stone home located outside Lancaster is the perfect location for a remodeler, with a need to recycle and a woodworker with a desire to recreate Lancaster's early history. This passion, coupled with a limited budget, encouraged me to make the period furniture needed to complete the restoration of my home by furnishing it with period pieces. Having studied at Stevens Trade as a young adult, it was natural for me to seek out someone who could teach me to make furniture in the primitive style. I convinced Jim Smithgall, master craftsman of fine furniture and a former Stevens Trade instructor, to teach me how to make Windsor chairs. Eventually, I was able to make woodworking my full-time craft. Over the last 15 years, I have added additional styles of Windsor chairs to my inventory, as well as a variety of harvest tables, blanket chests, and hanging corner cabinets. Each piece is hand painted in a variety of faux finishes.

For the last ten years, my furniture has been featured in stores in Manhattan, Lambertville, New Hope, and Lancaster. A Lancaster County Side Chair of mine was featured on the front cover of Country Living Magazine in the fall of 2003. I continue to enjoy my love of the past as I recreate pieces of furniture that will become our future antiques!
